About the Project

MOYA served as Architect of Record, leading architecture, visual design, and community engagement for the revitalization of Eastern Market Metro Park in Historic Capitol Hill, Washington, DC.

The project was shaped through extensive collaboration with community organizations and residents, including the Eastern Market Metro Park Advisory Team (EMMPAT), Barracks Row Main Street, ANC 6B, and surrounding neighborhoods. To ensure inclusive community participation, MOYA facilitated public meetings, workshops, and an online survey that gathered input from 429 residents and non-residents, as well as interactive tools like virtual whiteboards and online polls.

MOYA’s team worked closely with the community to refine design options based on feedback, ensuring the final park reflects Capitol Hill’s values and needs. The design features sustainable landscaping, flexible public spaces, and curated public art installations that honor the neighborhood’s cultural identity. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, MOYA delivered a fully integrated design solution that brings lasting value to this important civic space.

HIGHLIGHT STATEMENT

The MOXY Hotel and Franklin D. Reeves Center project at the intersection of U Street NW and 14th Street NW in Washington, DC, is a major urban development led by Legacy Community Partners and the NAACP. MOYA Design Partners, in collaboration with Soto Architecture & Urban Design, has crafted the architectural design of this transformative project.

About the Project

Wonders Early Learning & Extended Day engaged MOYA Creative team to rebrand their existing website with one that integrates smoother navigation, new information features, and one that incorporates their playful brand. We cut and edited a short full-screen video as a header in their homepage with Wonders’ mission as the theme. Our team worked on making complex resources easy to access. Application forms, downloads for parents, and different options to give donations are usable from all platforms.

Calls to action and interactive elements guide the user throughout, especially in pages that are dense in content. Wonders’ broad and vivid brand palette lent itself to unique color combinations. The round black fonts, logo and pictograms asked for extensive use of white space along with bold organizational color blocks to let the brand’s vivacity breathe.

About the Project

Zero to Three Policy Center is an independent, nonpartisan, research-based resource for policymakers and advocates on infants and toddlers’ developmental needs. Their annual conference is a leading event for professionals and researchers in the field, and an opportunity to promote inclusive policies that improve children’s health and well-being.

For their upcoming 2021 Annual Conference, Zero to Three wanted to underline the importance of caring, sharing and communication. MOYA Creative team created a logo that represents just that: two caring hands coming together into the shape of a heart. The hands represent an embrace and combine a reimagined color palette of blue, green and oranges that is playful and evocative in equal measure. Creating brand recognition, the team added other related symbols that complemented the design.

About the Project

Green Ascent is an investment and asset management company that focuses on three investment verticals: energy, infrastructure, and finance across North America, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. The Creative team was thrilled to work on this new branding initiative for this financial services firm. Our team used the word “Ascent” from the company’s name as the foundation for the logo design, and paired it with a graphic depiction of a mountain. With many of Green Ascent clients based in Asia Pacific, the team decided to use the famous Ni Mountain from China as the major focal point for Green Ascent’s branding.

The mountain pictogram hints to the letter “A”, and uses a flat green color palette, contrasted with the medium weight black text of the company name.

Along with developing the new branding for this financial services firm, the MOYA Creative team was also tasked with creating the landing page for the client’s website.

Custom icons were created to help website visitors understand Green Ascent’s guiding principles behind their investment approach. The mountain imagery was a focal part of the landing page, to ensure strong brand association of these imagery elements with the company.

About the Project

Moya Creative created all-new branding for our client The Keys to Kim, a lifestyle company specializing in gardening services, food catering and small event planning. Playing off the company’s name, our Creative team integrated a dark blue key at the center of the pictogram, with a circular pattern of foliage elements in soft and subtle colors.

For the typography, we chose a serene script for The Keys to Kim’s tagline “Unlock your creativity and inspiration”to evoke calm and tranquil emotions – perceptions which the company wants associated with their brand

About the Project

Flock DC is a women-owned business that is committed to seNing the Washington, DC area with their family of lifestyle and real estate management brands. Prior to this project, MOYA completed a multi-phase social media and website assessment for Flock DC, which offered the client digital strategies and recommendations to strengthen their pitch and increase reach in the market.

Based on this strategy, the MOYA team was asked by the client to develop social media templates and the website homepage designs for Flock DC and its various sub-brands (birdSEED foundation, Nest DC, Roost DC, Starling DC).

MOYA worked on a comprehensive branding strategy for women-owned lifestyle and real estate management firm Flock DC, covering digital and print products. We completed a social media and website assessment, leading to a digital strategy for the client to strengthen their pitch and increase reach in the market. Our team then created social media templates and website homepage designs for Flock DC and its various sub-brands.

An example print project is our collaboration on a T-shirt design dedicated to the late Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Designer Insights

Using Flock DC’s brand colors and style, we incorporated a stencil-looking illustration of Justice Ginsberg wearing her iconic collar and a mask. The image is also complemented with a Michelle Obama inspired quote that is tweaked to align with the Flock DC brand: When they go low, we fly high.”
