MOYA designed graphics for place branding elements for the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District (MVT CID). The MVT CID is situated in a vibrant, centrally located, accessible and growing mixed-use downtown neighborhood that reflects DC’s unique mix of historic and modern buildings, and offers a variety of restaurants, amenities, and experiences. The MVT CID wanted to update the place branding in the neighborhood, in order to highlight the diversity and vibrancy of this area in DC to visitors and residents alike.

MOYA’s team developed a unique origami-inspired concept for the MVT CID, creating images that mirror the pattern of this folding technique. To build up the MVT CID brand equity, colors used for these place branding elements are the same bright colors used in the MVT brand logo –red, green, orange and purple. These bold, festive and inviting designsare displayed in several places throughout the MVT: streetlight banners, exteriors of offices and storefronts, and on the MVT CID’s Clean and Safe Team pick-up truck.
