The three-block area known as the Fremont East Entertainment District is an essential part of Las Vegas centered around non-gaming nightclubs, cocktail lounges and entertainment hot spots. In 2020, the city of Las Vegas issued a Request for Proposals for the design of a cableway along Fremont Street.
Moya Design Partners Architecture team designed a stunning 4 stop cableway for this competition. The concept is an organic design with rounded soft lines that integrate in the urban landscape of Las Vegas and serve both as transport and as an architectural landmark. The bookend stations are larger and circular offering a 360 panoramic view of the surroundings, while the intermediate stations are smaller, lite, and functional.

The two main stations offer green areas and a pond. The water and vegetation serve as contrast to the clean modern lines of the stations and accentuate Las Vegas as an oasis in the backdrop of the Nevada desert. The stations’ orientation considers the sun’s all year-round path, offering an adaptable shade during the day.
At night, the elegant and minimalist design takes on a completely different character; the handrails have LED screens and beams of light that provide a much more over-the-top style in perfect synchrony with Las Vegas.
