Moya Design Partners is the prime architect for the architectural renovation of Randle Highlands Early Learning Center in Washington, DC. The modernization of Randle Highlands responds to the demand for high-quality early childhood programming for District residents.
Randle Highlands is among the oldest surviving elementary school buildings east of the Anacostia River. Built in 1911, the Elizabethan Tudor-style building has a four square, pin-wheel plan and rises two stories in height on an above-grade basement. The design of the Pre-K space includes six core classrooms and flexible discovery common areas, instructional support spaces, and administrative offices. The Early Learning Center, which will occupy a portion of the ground level, will consist of two classrooms, a welcome center, and a food prep area.
