Diane’s House

Moya Design Partners designed both the architecture and interiors for Diane’s House, a four-story 42-unit, multifamily, affordable housing complex with a significant permanent supportive housing component at 2619 Bladensburg Road NE in Washington, D.C. In addition to designing the architecture and interiors, MOYA produced construction documents and managed the construction phase of the development. The mission at Diane’s House is to provide housing, counseling, and life skills to a population of women who are veterans, recovering addicts, victims of domestic violence, and returning citizens.

There were originally two single-family homes on the site. In addition to providing a greater diversity of housing choices, the project will provide a business center, community facilities, a gym for residents, offices, a conference room, and new parking spaces. Diane’s House will have a green roof to meet the requirements of stormwater management, green area calculations, and an overall design that seeks to achieve the Enterprise Green Communities (EGC) environmental standard. The EGC Criteria program brings the improved health, economic, and environmental benefits of sustainable construction practices to low-income families.
