Moya Design Partners and Perkins Eastman DC are partnering on the architecture and interior design for the new headquarters of Washington DC’s Department of General Services (DGS). This project is part of Mayor Muriel’s Bowser leasing strategy to bring growth to different communities in the District. DGS’s new HQ will relocate to Ward 7, bringing a workforce of nearly 700 employees East of the River.
The goal is for the new DGS HQ to have a holistic design that recognizes community aspirations, sustainability needs, and financial responsibilities. The interior design team creates an empowering space for workers and visitors, emphasizing open, well-lit areas. In addition, the design and environmental graphics pay tribute to Ward 7 history and connection to the Black residents of DC.
