Audi Field (MLS’s D.C. United Stadium)
Audi Field is the first step in a master redevelopment plan for the Buzzard Point neighborhood in southwest Washington. The stadium is a gateway to future projects along the Anacostia River including shops, restaurants, and a waterfront promenade. We supported Populous, a global leader in stadium architecture, to secure the contract. We participated in stakeholder meetings, coordinated the details of LEED certification, and contributed designs for D.C. United’s offices, the D.C. United Team Store, and other interior spaces.
Facing Potomac Ave, the D.C. United Team Store features multicolor panels. Inside, fans can feel the electrifying rush of on-field access. Abundant natural light enters this soaring retail space through floor-to-ceiling window walls. Gray steel, timeless concrete, and blue-sky elements evoke team strength and resilience. The home team’s black and red colors create a vibrant sense of action. This continues in the dynamic lines of the retail counter. Altogether, our retail interior for D.C. United provides an intimate, first-class shopping experience that will grow the team’s fan base and engage supporters with VIP front-of-house service.
