DCI Masterplan

During our latest session, Federico Olivera-Sala shared updates on the DCI Master Plan, presenting two design options for a future athletic facility. One centers on a soccer field with bleachers, while the other expands into a flexible indoor venue for multiple sports. Federico also emphasized the thoughtful approach behind the design — preserving natural topography and existing trees — and the importance of working with the city to shape how community spaces will evolve and be used.

Healthy Babies Project

Federico also shared progress on the Healthy Babies project, which transforms a single-family home into a supportive community space for young mothers. The design includes areas for medical care, training, and short-term housing. He walked us through key design adjustments made to meet building codes and improve functionality for both residents and staff.

Aviation Landing Project Takes Flight

Esteban shared the latest on the Aviation Landing project — a mixed-use residential development in College Park, Maryland. Inspired by the area’s aviation heritage, the design channels the energy and flow of an airport, creating a dynamic living experience. The plan includes two lots with a podium for retail and commercial use, residential units above, and thoughtfully designed amenities like indoor-outdoor spaces, fitness areas, and communal zones. Esteban described the vision as a blend of modern gallery-like aesthetics with the practical needs of residential life.

Creative Website & Branding Refresh

Florencia shared exciting updates on the creative team’s website, designed to better showcase and tell the story of their work. The new layout features a clean white background to let each project’s unique branding shine. With updated animations and a more dynamic way of presenting visual design projects, the refreshed site aims to be both clear and engaging.

Updates

Website Refresh with Purpose

The MOYA Creative team is working on an elegant and functional website using Readymag, a tool that allows us to design with intention and flexibility. The site is being crafted to reflect Calya’s refined aesthetic—minimal yet immersive. With a clean layout, subtle transitions, and dynamic scroll-based animations, each section is designed to highlight the distinctive character of Calya Provenza and future developments. The website is being designed as a storytelling platform to immerse visitors in the Calya vision.

BIM Goals

Gaby shared updates on the BIM initiative, focused on developing custom, practical, and integrated solutions to support the team’s evolving needs. Her presentation walked through the assessment process — including workflow reviews, team interviews, and maturity level evaluations — highlighting existing strengths like Revit proficiency and strong IT support.

Key next steps include centralizing BIM assets, introducing standardized naming conventions via BIM 360, and minimizing duplication to improve efficiency. Gabriela also previewed future initiatives: launching a BIMTIP newsletter, offering training sessions, and exploring integration with MOYA’s AI tool, Maia, to support day-to-day workflows.

Dani S. added to the discussion, emphasizing the need to refine BIM processes to better support the transition from design to construction documentation.

Welcome Esteban

We’re excited to share that Esteban has joined our Interiors team! He’s from Colombia, incredibly talented, and brings a thoughtful design perspective we truly value. We’re thrilled to have him on board — welcome, Esteban!

Calya Ground Break

Paola Moya shared an on-the-ground update from Calya, including photos and videos capturing the latest construction progress. She highlighted real-world challenges faced on the sloped site — from concrete work to an unexpected truck mishap. The team also reviewed material samples and finish options to ensure the final design meets both functional needs and aesthetic goals.

Team Buzz

Colombia Movie Coming Soon!

The MOYA team in Colombia had a reunion and finally met each other in person. They also finished the poster for the new MOYA movie — inspired by the Avengers. It’s all coming together!

Yoga Fitness Expectations

Perfect form. Calm mind. Total focus.
Johnathan channels inner peace and outer strength — the kind of yoga that belongs on a magazine cover. Every pose is flawless. Every breath intentional. This is what we think our practice will look like.

Yoga Fitness Reality

Marisa tries to flow. Her dog tries to help.
Downward dog meets actual dog. Every stretch turns into a cuddle opportunity, and balance becomes a game of dodging paws and tail wags. This is what yoga really looks like — and honestly, we love it.

The Wedding

Yes — the big day finally happened! Fede’s son tied the knot, and while most parents just show up looking fancy… Fede spent the whole weekend in the kitchen. Think hundreds of empanadas, endless trays of sandwich de miga, and zero time to sit down.

But hey — everything turned out amazing. The party was perfect, the couple is glowing, and now the newlyweds live happily ever after… in Fede’s basement.

(Yes. The basement. Wish them luck.)

A big thank you to everyone who submitted nominations—and a huge congratulations to this month’s recognized team members!

It’s always uplifting to see kindness, collaboration, and hard work celebrated.

Remember, recognition doesn’t have to be for something huge—sometimes a simple gesture, a helpful hand, or a moment that brightened someone’s day is more than enough.

Let’s continue to lift each other up and celebrate the everyday wins. We hope to see new faces here every month—everyone’s impact matters.

For those who like action movies, the Accountant 2 in Amazon Prime was really good! – I love the scene where some kids hacked systems. No more to describe to avoid spoilers but check it out.

If you’re into original and unpredictable shows, The Rehearsal is a must-watch. Created and starring Nathan Fielder, it blends awkward humor, existential reflection, and a production style that’s as bizarre as it is brilliant. Each episode blurs the line between reality and fiction in a way that’s both thought-provoking and entertaining. There’s truly nothing else like it. Watch it.

The live-action How to Train Your Dragon stays true to the spirit of the original without overdoing it. The casting works, the visuals are solid, and it manages to feel grounded while keeping the emotional core intact. A well-done adaptation—worth checking out.

A little bit of humor!
