New Projects
Alert!

We’ve got two shiny new projects on the boards!
Agape – A senior living community where we’re delivering both interiors and graphics.
Arcola – An affordable housing project, also getting our interiors + graphics magic.
And… fingers crossed 🤞 — the team had an interview today for a commercial office interiors project. Let’s bring that baby home!

Modera H Street: The Finish Line Is Near!

Modera H Street is wrapping up — we’ve submitted the substantial completion form, and final delivery is set for August 8!
Check out photos at moderahstreet.com and huge kudos to the team for bringing this one to life. Almost there!

Centronia Concept Unveiled!

The Centronia Team wowed the client with a bold, inclusive vision for Centronia — think vibrant village vibes with flexible classrooms, open curvy corridors, and lots of natural light.
The client loved it, and now we’re diving into round two of design refinements. Go team!

Calya Website Goes Live(ish)!

Dani M. gave us a sneak peek at Calya’s new website — built in ReadyMag!
The design is sleek and animated, but we hit a few tech bumps (hover bugs, menus, responsive quirks).
We need your help: test it out on your tablets/iPads and send feedback. Let’s polish this gem!

Updates

We Made the Cover!

What started as a tiny image for our vendor profile turned into a cover feature!
The editor of Cruise & Ferry Interiors saw our Bistro at Ocean and Collins design and loved it so much she asked to use it for their featured vendor cover.
Check out the cover image — our work, front and center. Big win for the team! 🙌

 AI + Project Management Update!

Juan Carlos Penuela shared exciting updates:

  • We’re transitioning from Monday.com to ClickUp by the end of August 🚀
  • A new AI assistant will help with naming, documentation, and smoother workflows — using our own data, not random web stuff.
  • 1:1 sessions are coming to help set up your ClickUp spaces. Get ready for smarter project management!

Welcome to the Team!

Say hello to our amazing new teammates:

  • Nicolas and Laura join the Architecture & Interiors team 🏛️
  • Dalal is on board as our new Proposal Coordinator ✨
We’re thrilled to have you all on board — welcome to the crew!

Playing with AI Tools for Video + Design

Paola’s been exploring Runway and Veed for AI-powered video magic — plus using ChatGPT to make quick Photoshop-style edits.
If there’s enough interest, we could host a mini training to show you how these tools can boost your workflow. Interested? Let us know!

Team Buzz

Kudos to Renata

A huge shoutout to Renata for her powerful participation in the national rollout of Mexico’s first-ever women’s rights charter.
She was invited to speak on the right to free movement, free expression in public space, and access to housing — bringing voice and vision to a transformative initiative reaching women across the country.
Curious to learn more? Reach out to Ren — she has stories worth hearing.

MOYA Recipe Showcase – It’s Coming!

Get your aprons ready — the MOYA Recipe Showcase is back this month!
If you’ve got a dish you’re dying to share (or show off), send your name to Johnathan to sign up as a presenter.
We can’t wait to taste your culinary creations. 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

MOYA-versaries: Ana & Fer!

A huge shoutout to Ana and Fer for another year with MOYA!
Sure, time here moves in dog years 🐶 — but it honestly feels like you’ve both been part of the family forever.
We’re so lucky to have you — thank you for everything you bring to the team!

Architecture for Kindergarteners

Johnathan had the joy of speaking to 200 kindergarteners at a local career fair — introducing them to the magic of architecture (and debunking the idea that he built their 85-year-old school 😆).

BIM Tips #1: Model with Purpose
Welcome to our BIM Tips series!

Each edition will share practical, bite-sized advice to help improve how we model, document, and collaborate every day. Whether you’re just getting started or refining your workflow, these small habits can make a big difference.
Let’s kick things off with one of the most important mindset shifts in BIM:

Model with Purpose
Every object you place in a BIM model should serve a clear function, whether it’s for coordination, documentation, visualization, or quantity takeoff. Over-modeling adds weight and confusion, while thoughtful modeling makes the entire project more efficient.

Here are 3 useful guidelines to keep in mind:

  • Ask yourself: Is this element necessary for someone else’s work or a deliverable?
  • When full geometry isn’t needed: Use non-graphic information, 2D details or symbolic representations.
  • Prioritize quality over quantity: Smart, intentional modeling always beats excessive extra detail when isn’t truly needed.

A healthy and useful model isn’t the one with the most elements, it’s the one where every element has a clear purpose.

Get Better Soon, Fer!
One of our very own MVPs has been facing a tough health challenge this past month, and we’re all feeling the absence of his energy, humor, and incredible spirit.

We miss you, Fer, and we’re sending you all the love, strength, and healing vibes as you recover.

Your work, attitude, and heart make MOYA a better place — and we can’t wait to have you back. 💫

Team, please keep Fer in your thoughts and send your good energy his way!

A big thank you to everyone who submitted nominations—and a huge congratulations to this month’s recognized team members!

It’s always uplifting to see kindness, collaboration, and hard work celebrated.

Remember, recognition doesn’t have to be for something huge—sometimes a simple gesture, a helpful hand, or a moment that brightened someone’s day is more than enough.

Let’s continue to lift each other up and celebrate the everyday wins. We hope to see new faces here every month—everyone’s impact matters.

Sara´s recommendations

This month, I’d like to recommend the last book I’ve read: The Vegetarian by Korean author Han Kang, winner of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature. It’s a powerful and thought-provoking novel that explores themes of identity, resistance, and the body through a beautifully unsettling narrative. It’s also relatively short, so with that, and being a captivating read, it shouldn’t take too much of your time.

Carola´s recommendations

If you love suspense, twists, and psychological mind-benders — this is your movie.
Michael Douglas stars in a thriller that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Just when you think you’ve figured it out… you haven’t.
Watch it. Trust no one. 👀

Tech recommendations

No more tangled cords — and no more batteries! These wireless headphones charge directly through your computer and deliver amazing sound + all-day comfort. Ideal for focus mode, Zoom calls, or vibing out.
