Her approach to business and design is holistic, rooted in diverse perspectives and international influences, a philosophy that resonates throughout her team at MOYA.
In her leadership capacity, Paola Moya places a strong emphasis on the value of a diverse and interdisciplinary team with a global outlook. She advocates for design excellence, and her companies are distinguished by their dedication to social causes. This is particularly evident in their work on affordable housing, support for non-profits, and organizing events like Art After Dark, which champions artists of color and tackles homelessness.
Paola’s portfolio includes several high-profile projects in the Washington DC metropolitan area. These range from the site selection study for the Latino American Museum and American Women Museum to the renovation of the historic Howard Theatre, Audi Field, MGM National Harbor, public schools, thousands of affordable and market rate units and more. Additionally, she received the Milton F. Clogg Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award from Montgomery College, and in 2022, the international WAN Female Frontier Awards. Her achievements have been spotlighted in Architect magazine, Huffington Post, Fox News, and CNN. In 2021, Paola was honored for her contributions to the economy and community during a discussion with Vice President Kamala Harris and Congresswoman Nanette Diaz Barragán, which focused on supporting Latina entrepreneurs and addressing systemic issues through the Biden-Harris Administration’s infrastructure bills.
Paola’s journey began when she moved to the United States at 19 and completed her architectural studies while supporting her family. She earned her Bachelor’s and master’s in architecture from the Catholic University of America, and a finance certification from the Wharton School. Paola’s leadership extends beyond her professional achievements, as she emphasizes the importance of investing in family, friends, and self. She divides her time between Washington DC, North Carolina, and Medellin, alongside her husband and dog Charlie.
Federico Olivera-Sala, an accomplished Partner and Design Principal at MOYA, has an extensive portfolio spanning almost three decades. His expertise in architectural design and management has contributed to the development of educational institutions, civic and community buildings, commercial projects, residential, and mixed-use buildings. Federico oversees the company’s growth, pursuing design excellence, and navigating projects through local, state, and federal approval processes. Under his leadership, numerous projects have earned industry accolades and met rigorous sustainability standards, including LEED and Enterprise Green Communities. Notably, in 2023, Federico was appointed as an expert witness in Washington DC, to testify before Zoning Commission on PUD and BZA cases, a tribute to his extensive experience in master planning, mixed-use and multifamily projects.
Federico’s architecture career started in Argentina, where he started and managed an architectural and urban planning firm and served as a faculty member at the University of Belgrano School of Architecture. His move to the United States marked a significant career progression. Joining SK&I Architects in Bethesda, MD, he rapidly advanced to the role of Planning Division Director and Design Principal, contributing to over eighty projects that significantly enhanced the residential landscape throughout the east coast.
Federico has a degree from the University of Belgrano School of Architecture. Beyond his professional achievements, he has a passion for soccer and music, having been a DJ in an Argentinian dance club in his earlier years. Today, Federico finds joy in spending quality time with his wife and three children.
Vinay Ganeshan serves as a principal and senior project manager at MOYA. He brings over two decades of experience in architectural design and project management, specializing in residential development. Throughout his career, Vinay has handled every stage of design projects, from conceptualization to final design development and construction. , Vinay forges and maintains strong, long-lasting strategic partnerships with clients and stakeholders. His dedication is evident in his portfolio of over 30 landmark projects, primarily on complex mixed-use and residential developments. Vinay prioritizes end-users first. His commitment to aligning the client’s needs, budget, and vision to deliver optimum housing solutions has cemented his reputation as an efficient, community-oriented architect.
Before joining MOYA, Vinay held pivotal roles at various architectural firms in the Washington DC Metro area. He was the Principal in Charge at Dwell Design Studio, contributing to its growth, and held leadership positions at SK+I and Grimm and Parker Architects.
Vinay earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Howard University. Outside the office, Vinay enjoys golfing and cheering on his children at soccer matches. An avid sports fan, Vinay closely follows and roots for the Washington Commanders, Chelsea F.C. and FSU college football.

Noor Makkiya, with over a decade of experience in Architecture and Urban Design, significantly contributes to MOYA’s diverse projects and is actively growing the Urban Design practice at MOYA. Her global experience includes award-winning projects in cities like Baghdad, London, and New York, underpinning her work as a skillful Researcher and Urban Designer. She oversees all aspects of affordable and market-rate residential projects, from initial design to final construction drawings and construction administration. Her expertise in handling intricate permit processes for applications such as HUD, LIHTC, DHCD, and PUD is notable. She plays a crucial role in urban design, particularly in leading site selection for projects like the Smithsonian Women’s History Museum and Smithsonian Latin American Museum in Washington DC.
Noor’s career spans diverse master plans, campus masterplans, and resiliency projects. In her birthplace, Baghdad, she led the design and construction of a visionary hospital through her firm. As a co-founder of WMN atelier, an all-female design studio, Noor’s entrepreneurial spirit and groundbreaking contributions in urban design have garnered widespread recognition.

Within the MOYA team, Johnathan plays a crucial role in working with teams to brainstorm and manage projects, combining his creative design skills with technical knowledge. Previously, Johnathan worked with award-winning firms in Washington, D.C., and Atlanta. There, he honed his skills in interior design, focusing on both corporate and residential projects. His tenure at these firms saw him engaging in varied aspects of design and architecture, further refining his professional capabilities. Johnathan has a strong commitment to mentoring, often tutoring young architects and contributing to the growth of the profession.

Her expertise encompasses all phases of project design, from initial concept development to comprehensive construction administration. Daniela excels at translating design concepts into detailed architectural plans, collaborating effectively with clients, consultants, and architects to ensure compliance with building codes, and actively contributing to the selection of materials and products. Her extensive experience and versatile skillset are instrumental in bringing architectural visions to life while adhering to functional and regulatory requirements.

Her accolades include 1st place in a national contest for sustainable, emergency housing design and an honorable mention as a Distinguished Young Professor at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, showcasing her blend of professional and academic excellence.
Originating from Argentina, Carla earned her Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Buenos Aires. In her leisure time, she enjoys ceramics in her home studio and roller skating in the park.

A Fulbright IIE Fellowship recipient and an AIA St. Louis Chapter award winner, she also served as a Fulbright Visiting Research Faculty at Aalto University. Experience at Terrapin Bright Green, developing project proposals, managing client relations, and presenting on sustainability topics, has allowed her to develop expertise in both project management and sustainable design.
Throughout her career, Catie has demonstrated her proficiency in graphic design, coupled with essential soft skills such as adaptability, creativity, and critical thinking. She has contributed significantly to high-profile projects, including the Merdeka 118 Tower in Malaysia, Portland International Airport Terminal Redevelopment in Oregon, and JPMorgan Chase Headquarters in New York City. Additionally, she coauthored Nature Inside, A Biophilic Design Guide, which showcases her commitment to integrating biophilic design principles in architecture.

Renata Orozco is a Project Designer known for her people-centric and sustainable architectural design expertise. She also played a key role in the development of urban master plans for Naucalpan, Mexico State, Mexico, during her time at Planeación y Desarrollo Arquitectonico.
Renata is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Urban Development Projects at Universidad Iberoamericana, Ciudad de México. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the same university, with a specialization in Urbanism. Renata enriched her education further through an exchange program at Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici in Florence, Italy, where she explored topics such as Transportation Architecture, Public Space Design, and Urbanism. Originally from Mexico, she is an avid hiker, exploring the majestic slopes of her country’s Iztaccihuatl Volcano and the breathtaking vistas of Norway’s Trolltunga.
As the Director of Interiors at MOYA, Adrian Saunders brings almost two decades of experience in designing and crafting meaningful interior spaces. His expertise is evident in projects for schools, community centers, and government buildings, where he blends community feedback with strategic placemaking. Adrian holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The Catholic University of America, where he also pursued a Master of Architecture. Outside of his professional life, Adrian is passionate about exploring emerging technologies and is an avid fan of science fiction. Ana Polettini currently works as an Interior Designer at MOYA, developing architectural and interior projects across various sectors. With over 13 years of experience, she focuses on multifamily, commercial, and civic sectors, playing a crucial role in managing complex interior design projects, test fits, construction documents, and client presentations.
Ana has a proven track record in team coordination and project management, ensuring accuracy in architectural projects and documentation. She has been involved in the design of the Starbucks Brazil as Head of Architecture and Design and was a Senior Architect Lead at WeWork LATAM, delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Originally from Brazil, Ana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism and two Graduate specializations, one in Enterprise and Project Management in Civil Construction and other in Interior Design, Decoration and Ambiance. Laura’s filmmaking is notably supported by The Sundance Institute and Catapult Film Fund, earning her features in prestigious publications like Variety Magazine and The Washington Post. Her directorial debut, “The Rights of Butterflies” (AFI Docs 2012), played a pivotal role in the passing of the DREAM Act in Maryland. Her ongoing project, “What The Pier Gave Us,” initially a short film at BAMCinemaFEST 2021, is evolving into a feature-length documentary. Carola’s diverse experience spans multiple creative disciplines, enabling her to navigate seamlessly between architecture, interior design, and graphic design. She has worked on a variety of projects, ranging from corporate to residential, across Latin America and the U.S., and has held key roles at WeWork and VDV Arquitectura, where she contributed to complex, high-impact designs. In her most recent role at MOYA, Carola played an essential part in the Business Development and RFP department, helping to tell MOYA’s story through well-crafted proposals that highlighted the firm’s strengths and creative capabilities.
Originally from Venezuela, Carola holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Simón Bolívar University. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling to experience new cultures, which continuously inspires her creative process. Carola is also passionate about board games and cherishes time spent with her dog, helping her stay balanced and unwind.
Aura Telman is the Culture & Experience Director at MOYA. She combines strategic HR management with a focus on mental health and employee wellness. With over 10 years in HR and project management, Aura has developed creative solutions in wellness, recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement. Aura’s expertise includes designing HR strategies for hybrid/remote environments, team alignment, and wellness workshops. She has a strong background in full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and HR strategic planning. Her role at MOYA is defined by her commitment to strategic HR management and mental health advocacy.
Aura holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Aura is a certified Mental Health First Aid and Mindfulness Practitioner and a member of the Certified Professionals in Human Resources of British Columbia, Canada. Aura is fluent in English and Romanian, her native language, as well as Moldavian, and has basic proficiency in Spanish. Originally from a small Romanian town, she has a passion for cooking, frequently experimenting with and perfecting new recipes from diverse global cuisines, especially those rich in unique spices and hot sauces.
Kareem Priestley, an experienced accountant at Moya, has over 18 years of finance expertise. His proficiency spans a range of accounting practices, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, financial reporting, and treasury functions. Kareem’s role is pivotal in ensuring smooth financial interactions with clients, vendors, and subconsultants, contributing significantly to the firm’s operational efficiency.
Before his tenure at MOYA, Kareem demonstrated his financial acumen as the Director of Accounting at Royalty Solutions and Concord Music Group Inc. in New York. Here, he adeptly handled general accounting operations, played a key role in external audits, and skillfully managed the transition of financial data across software platforms.
Kareem’s academic foundation in finance is rooted in a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Clark Atlanta University. Originally from New York, Kareem enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends in the city that never sleeps.
Fernando Bermudez is the Operations Coordinator at MOYA. With over a decade of experience in operational and program management, his approach to operations management is multifaceted, combining strategic planning, analytical talent, and excellent people skills. His proficiency in Microsoft Excel and his ability to multitask and proactively address challenges make him a key asset in driving efficiency and innovation within the team.

Bernardo Corrales is the IT Manager at MOYA, responsible for safeguarding and enhancing the company’s IT infrastructure. His expertise in cybersecurity and IT consulting comes from working in Latin America, the USA, and the EU. Bernardo handles various aspects of corporate IT security, including system design and development, from the initial requirements to ongoing support.
During his tenure at MOYA, Bernardo has improved MOYA’s IT infrastructure by implementing cloud services, optimizing system performance, and maintaining strict security protocols. His work with virtualization technologies, particularly in financial institutions, has been recognized for its innovation.
Originally from Costa Rica, Bernardo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and is a Microsoft Certified Professional. When not navigating the complexities of IT, he is a dedicated father of three, which keeps him equally engaged and busy.
Alexandra Jelkh is the Proposal and Business Development Manager at MOYA, where she leads the strategy and execution of proposals and drives initiatives to expand the firm’s client base. Alexandra also conducts market research, identifies new business opportunities, and fosters relationships with potential and existing clients to support the company’s growth in a competitive industry.
With an MBA and over 7 years of experience in marketing, Alexandra brings a strong background in strategic thinking and process development. She has worked across diverse industries—including law firms, marketing agencies, startups, and the wellness sector—where she specialized in creating innovative solutions and streamlining workflows to enhance business performance.
Outside of work, Alexandra is passionate about dance, especially ballet, which has been a lifelong source of discipline and creative expression for her. She continues to pursue this passion in her free time, finding joy in movement and artistic performance.
Alejandra Chacón is an Editorial & Graphic Designer at MOYA Creative, where she develops compelling visual materials that support the company’s business development and branding efforts. She also contributes producing illustrations, editing videos, and providing comprehensive graphic design support across various projects, ensuring that all visual content aligns with MOYA’s goals.
With a degree in Graphic and Advertising Communication, emphasizing Branding, from the University of Medellín, Alejandra brings 7 years of experience in communication and design. She has worked as a designer and social media manager for companies, NGOs, and startups, where she refined her expertise in editorial design, branding, and digital content creation. Her diverse experience enables her to craft unique and effective visual narratives tailored to the needs of different audiences.
Outside of work, Alejandra has a deep passion for aquatic sports and dedicates time every day to swimming and practicing apnea, a skill she has been training for over five years. She finds peace and mental clarity through swimming and breathing techniques, which help her calm the mind and maintain a balanced lifestyle. Daniela Morris is a Senior Graphic Designer at MOYA Creative, where she leads the design process for a variety of projects, delivering visually engaging and innovative designs. Collaborating closely with the creative team, she develops cohesive visual identities and design solutions that align with MOYA’s brand vision across both print and digital platforms. Daniela also supports the development of RFPs and graphic design proposals, contributing to the firm’s efforts to secure new business opportunities.

There, she built a strong foundation in branding, editorial and advertising design, and photography. With experience managing branding strategies, creating social media content, and developing editorial materials for both digital and print media, Daniela has refined her skills in conceptualization, abstraction, and innovative problem-solving. Her background working with international clients has also given her a global perspective and adaptability in her creative work.
Outside of her professional role, Daniela enjoys playing the bass guitar as a creative outlet to explore rhythm and sound.
