Diane’s House, located at 2619 Bladensburg Road NE in Washington, DC, is a 42-unit affordable housing project designed by MOYA Design Partners and developed by Flaherty and Collins in partnership with Diane’s House Ministries. Completed in 2020, the 30,500-square-foot building provides crucial housing and support services for vulnerable women, including homeless veterans and survivors of domestic violence.
The $6.7 million project focuses on sustainability, achieving Enterprise Green Communities (EGC) certification. It includes a green roof for stormwater management and uses native plants to enhance environmental sustainability. Diane’s House offers 25,330 square feet of residential space and 3,200 square feet of amenity space, with areas for vocational training, recovery programs, and health services.
Despite zoning challenges, the project was completed quickly through the DCRA’s ‘Velocity’ program. Diane’s House is a testament to thoughtful design, fostering a safe, supportive community for at-risk women in Washington, DC.
